The Inspiration

Kidilum is a bold, ingredient-led South Indian dining experience rooted in Kerala and built for New York—where food, drink, design, and hospitality come together to create something that lingers. “Kidilum” is a slang translation for “beyond awesome,” and that idea runs through everything we do: dishes crafted with soul, depth, and confidence; culinary driven cocktails built from real regional ingredients with intention and care; and a space designed to feel magnetic, warm, and alive. 

Culinary Vision

At Kidilum, the food is rooted in the soul of Kerala and shaped for the energy of New York. Led by Chef Vinu, whose journey through renowned kitchens across the world has shaped a thoughtful, globally informed point of view, the kitchen reflects a long-held vision of cooking that is deeply personal. Our open concept kitchen is ingredient-driven and expressive, balancing bold coastal flavors with precision and restraint. Familiar elements are reimagined with intention, letting spices, textures, and techniques speak clearly without excess. The menu will continue to evolve, guided by seasonality, creativity, and the energy of the room.

The Space

Kidilum is a space designed to feel both transportive and grounded—distinctly unique, yet effortlessly welcoming. Subtle but bold expressions of South Indian culture are woven throughout, from handcrafted tile work and textured clay walls to a striking coconut installation and custom-curated artwork.

Each element tells a story, illustrating the natural dialogue between Kerala and New York—heritage and modernity, tradition and momentum—coming together in a space that feels intentional, expressive, and alive.

Mixology

Our beverage program is culinary-driven at its core, built with the same philosophy as the kitchen. Cocktails are crafted using real ingredients, spices, herbs, fruits, and infusions drawn from South Indian traditions layered with modern technique and balance. Each drink is designed to pair effortlessly with the food while standing confidently on its own. From thoughtful low-proof options to bold, spirit-forward creations, the bar at Kidilum is an extension of the cuisine- intentional and undeniably exciting.

The Team Behind

Kidilum is the latest project from Hungry Trio, the hospitality group founded by Sammeer Raajpal and mother-son duo Archana and Sidharth Sharma. With a growing portfolio across New Jersey and New York City—including Aarzu Indian Bistro, Ramen Nagomi, Esquina No. 525, and more—Hungry Trio is known for creating thoughtful, experience-driven restaurants rooted in culture and craft.

Chef Vinu from Kerala joined the Hungry Trio family at the start of Kidilum’s journey over two years ago, shaping the concept from its earliest ideas into what it is today.
